Default Analytics Outbound Link Tracking

I have a suggestion for the High Roller Theme, I just added to the review tables and the review pages the ability to track the outbound clicks for the "go" and "download" links:

onclick="javascript: pageTracker._trackPageview('/go/<?php echo $room->room_short_url; ?>');"

onclick="javascript: pageTracker._trackPageview('/downlod/<?php echo $room->room_short_url; ?>');"

I added these to the appropriate href's in the review.php and poker-rooms.lib.php files. Anywhere else?

Perhaps this functionality could checked on/off in the "Theme Options" section.

Just a thought!

PS: For those that would like to track the outbound links, ontop of the above you have to setup Google Analytics "Goals" to track:

/download/(.*)$

and

/go/(.*)$

as regular expression match goals and be sure to activate the goal.

Thanks!!!

You legend - I've been trying to figure out how to do this for a while.

I'd also be interested to know whether href's need to be altered anywhere other than the review.php and poker-rooms.lib.php.

Cheers,

Just one question which seems to have arisen from this.

When I click on the save button having inserted the Javascript, I get given an error page saying that it was impossible to establish a connection with localhost.

So I downloaded the pages, made the necessary changes and then uploaded them again which seemed to get around the problem.

Now though, I'm still getting the same error message when I make any other changes/additions to totally different files.

Is there any way around this?

Cheers,

A couple of other questions just to follow up on this:

- Is there any way to tell which room has been clicked through to? I can currently count the number of clicks based on the number of goals that are displayed in the goals graph, but it would nice to be able to see which rooms are getting the clicks.

- Secondly, is there any way of finding out which keywords have generated these clicks?

Thanks a lot
